Melbourne’s finest have been extremely busy this year, hopping from continent to continent in their marathon quest to spread Zonoscope across the planet (check out some great footage from their recent triumphant show in Buenos Aires below). Fresh from blazing through the finest coffee shops, record stores, and stages of 15 European countries and 36 US states over the past two months, Cut Copy are proud to bring the Zonoscope Tour to Australia for its first and ONLY cross-country headline run. The band are on fire after their overseas exploits, with sold-out crowds bringing manic energy to each and every room, including a throbbing horde at Coachella (see the distorted madness here –

). They can’t wait to bring the party home (after they get over their jetlag). They will be supported on some shows by World’s End Press, and others by the Holidays (check local info).

Fellow Melbourne residents Architecture in Helsinki for some reason thought it would be a good idea to imagine the tune as a classic Roy Orbison record. Well, it turns out that it was a genius move.

Some good news for Australian fans of Cutters Records. As many of you may know, Cutters is the indie record label set up by the band to release music they like, and whose roster has included the debut record from Midnight Juggernauts,12″s from K.I.M. CUTTERS INVADE NORTH AMERICA (PRESALE DETAILS), RELEASE FINAL PART OF DOCUMENTARY

It’s only 3 weeks until the release of Cut Copy’s “Zonoscope,” and today we’re proud to unveil both the band’s North American tour dates, and “Visions of Cloud Neck,” the final piece of the Krozm-directed making-of documentary, which covers the band’s final studio sessions in Atlanta (featuring ball juggling, dog licking and Starbucks drinking), and the the songs’ journey from studio to the stage, with never-before-seen live footage from Parklife in Australia.

The band are currently holed up in a warehouse in Melbourne putting the finishing touches on their brand new live show, and the next leg of their worldwide Zonoscope tour can now be revealed. All shows will feature the mighty Holy Ghost! as support (as will the UK shows), so you’ll be able to get your groove on all night.

Cut Copy are happy to announce the tracklisting for their upcoming LP, “Zonoscope.” Produced by the band’s Dan Whitford, it will be released on Feb 4 In Australia, Feb 7 in Europe, and Feb 8 in North America on CD, Deluxe CD, and 2 X Vinyl. The Deluxe CD and iTunes Deluxe Version will include a brand new cut of the Krozm-directed documentary “Artificial Interpreter,” featuring footage not previewed on the web episodes. In addition, the Deluxe CD will come in a special Alter-designed box.

The iTunes pre-order for “Zonoscope” (both regular and deluxe versions) will start on Tuesday, December 21, and people who pre-order will receive a previously unreleased mix of “Take Me Over.”

There’s a lot going on in Cut Copy’s World. They have finished the recording of their new, as-yet-untitled, 3rd Album (due in early 2010), which they will mix with Ben Allen (Gnarls Barkley, Animal Collective) in Atlanta in August.

But before they do that, they have embarked on a world tour to play some new tunes and old favorites to festival-goers and clubbers alike.

In celebration of all this, the band have made a brand new song, “Where I’m Going,” available for the price of an email address. If you want it on vinyl, it will be released as a strictly limited, one-sided etched 7″ in August.

“Where I’m Going,” was described by the band as “inspired by realizing your mistakes, marching to the beat of the Timelords, gone away truths, the swagger of O’Riley and everything left unsaid.
